DROP 2 CLIPBOARD

OVERVIEW

The purpose of this program is to save typing effort and errors associated with entering full path file names into any application.  The basic idea is that you place this program on your desktop while browsing folders.  When you find the file you wish to reference in your application, drag and drop it onto the Drop2Clip icon.  The program will append the file to clipboard, and you can recover the clipboard contents by pasting into your application (ctrl-v).

If you click on the application icon (not drag and drop) it will clear the clipboard buffer.  You will know the program received your instruction (either a drag or a click) because it will momentarily display a splash screen.

The program was written using Visual Studio 2008 and requires that you have Windows .Net Framework 2.0 installed.  The .Net framework provides a replacement for the older windows API interface and provides a feature rich, secure environment for program development.  Get your free copy directly from Microsoft--here:  Click.

The biggest challenge you will face in using the program is if you ran the installer, which will stick the program into an obscure location in “C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\Apps\2.0\....”.   You’ll want to find the .exe and move it to your desktop.  There is no way to effective use the program while it is in your start menu.  If you are missing components, the installer is a good way to get them all, but once you have them, you could just download the .exe file to your desktop.

Best Wishes!
